Computer question about installing a program on a diff computer?
I had a windows xp and i had installed Adobe Photo-shop cs on it. its a few years old now, however i recently just got a new vista laptop, and i want to move my Adobe Photoshop from my xp to my vista.
I lost the original installation CD, however i still have the product key and a few blank CD”s. anything i can do? any advice appreciated.
Ive already tried copying and pasting the program onto a blank CD, but it says on my vista it’s not installed
32 bit programs works on Vista OK.
But you can’t just copy a program. During installation it put entries into Windows registry and the program can’t work without them.
You can try PickMeApp – a free tool for program transfer. It will package a program to a chosen location. Then you can move the package (burn it onto CD if you don’t have a network cable/flash drive) to your laptop, run PickMeApp again and install the package there.
Not sure if PickMeApp will support Photoshop – it is not listed in their current tested applications list. But you lose nothing by trying.
